Heather Williams, Lighter Life Counsellor
As an extremely busy lady with both full time and part time employment, Heather has found the service from MyRuby indispensable.
By day, Heather works full time for the NHS in one of the largest NHS teaching hospitals in East London. In addition to this, she is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Eating Disorders. Heather qualified as a Lighter Life Counsellor in 2006 and works evening and weekend hours to run client meeting groups.

Heather explains:
'As a weight management counsellor, my clients are speaking to my 'Ruby' about a very sensitive issue. My allocated Ruby has been trained to handle the calls in an extra caring manner and to be aware that some callers could be nervous or emotional about taking this first step towards changing their lives.

By having the same member of staff answering 90% of my calls, it means she is able to build up relationships with the callers for Lighter Life and has really become an extension of my team.

This suits me as I am in the correct frame of mind to speak to clients in my own time rather than with the stresses of the day interfering.
